Winter is Here!

Winter is here, and it’s cold outside! As the temperature drops, your home should be an escape from the elements (and the White Walkers!), but with the rising cost of electricity it’s understandable if you’re reluctant to turn on the reverse cycle air conditioner as often as you’d like. That’s why we’ve put together some clever tips to help you reduce your winter heating bill while keeping your house toasty warm.         GET THE SUN WORKING FOR YOU On sunny days (not that they are often this winter), make sure you open your curtains and blinds. That way you can harness the natural heat of the sun and your air con doesn’t have to work as hard to heat your home. Don’t forget to close the curtains as the sun goes down to trap all that lovely heat inside.   THINK ABOUT BETTER AIRFLOW Keep in mind the “heat rises” lesson we all learned in primary school and use standing fans or ceiling fans to cut your air conditioners workload by taking advantage of airflow. Staying Warm in Winter

Bitter cold temperatures. Icy winds. Blowing snow. Winter has many ways of exposing you to the cold. But just because the winter weather is cold, doesn't mean  you  have to be. When the mercury drops, Mr. Goodair advises you try these tips — they'll keep you toasty and warm. LAYER UP While this might be an obvious tip, layering your clothes works the best. Wear quite a lot of thin layers because then you can trap the air in between the layers. It also means layers of clothing can be removed once someone is warmed up. The real key to handling the cold is layers of clothing — scarf, hat, gloves, jumper, coats, etc. Always make sure you have a back-up coat at work for any extra layer required.   COVER UP Any part of the body which is exposed will feel the chill, which means the hands and ears often feel the coldest. The back of the neck and lower back are the parts that are susceptible to the cold, and it is recommended that we cover those to feel warmer.
